Never did a thread on this bike but it's one of a few I like to share in detail & don't mind seeing copies of.
Bought it from a gentleman in Ky. Who parked it after it stopped running. His wife was battling cancer and didn't feel a need to get the bike running.
Lucky to run across it within 30 minutes of posting. And the seller was happy to hold it a few days so I could arrange the 800 mile transport. I looked for 16 months till I found one, not only well set up but at a college student budget

After talking with seller, we determined fuel pump wasn't coming on for whatever reason.
By then, Local boat trailer company responded to my ad saying they had a van coming back from New Orleans to Baltimore md and could pick up the bike.
Few days later I finally got it delivered to work.
Arrival condition

I couldn't hold out, battery was still good, and a can of ether was sitting 10ft away.....

PAtat...o,patato, patat.... BOOM! fired 2nd bump= 100% Bad FP
While finishing up college and work stuff it sat and parts started migrating to the bike from my stash...

It was cleaned and parts installation began 5/14

This is what the forum needs! Not what oil should I use or how do you check engine light codes!

^^^^^^^ what jesse said as usual.[up] (PS-jesse......just wondering what viscosity you recommend for riding with consistent temps in the 40's??? :):D:p

Hahah thanks guys!

+ At some point got a drummer exhaust (great pipe! not my first choice personally but I didn't have a bike running one so it's on there, no noticeable change other than nice deep rumble noise)
+ Aprilia tuono mirrors - finally! (put some on my old 08 9sx also, but that sold to my friend 3 miles away. he wanted the mirrors.)
+ GPS setup, not on the bike since no plans for touring

Here's most recent picture 12/14

Most recent updates (1/15)
+ 5-0 case sliders (available from Sandro @ 5-0Dro)
+ 2010/EBR LED tail & turn signals
& "back off" brake light flasher

Possibly go through some motor work, but that will stay under wraps...

Mr. Cobb will be tuning it & tweaking the EBR ECM in my updated motor Ulysses whenever he's not fishing :)

Looking good Jeff! Thanks for helping me out and glad you like the seat. For those who don't know, Jeff and Paul are the Go-To guys for Buell on the east coast!!!

Can't wait for spring man, we gotta do a cruise!

Thanks Jay! Yep That's why I keep so many parts on hand. Never know when myself or local rider will need them.

9sx got black pegs this weekend from a Badweb member's 09 Ulysses.

Wow! hard to believe it's been another year.

+finally painted Rear sets to match (black texture rustoleum)
+H&B bags from moto Guzzi (all H&B bags mount the same, just have different structures for different subframes)

Help from Paul P and parts trades for his welding skills... Some minor fixes by co workers at HD Annapolis
+ racks for short chassis!

found a brembo caliper in a box... Forgot it was even here.

+ 2004 Ducati monster Brembo rear caliper
+ ASB hidden brake bracket
+ Galfer black braid rear brake line

When did you put the Braking Wave rotor and why did you get rid of the EBR rotor?

Changed rotors when it was time to replace the front tire.
Slotted Rotor went on my X.

I'm not a fan of the Braking rotor. ztl2 has springs in it to keep very slight contact with rotor, the slots in the braking rotor accelerate the pads wear to the point that it's not practical for road use. Pads probably would only last about 2-5k miles.
I've got 10k+ miles out of pads on some of my older ztl bikes. These pads probably had 7k before the braking rotor and were maybe 1/2 gone. After 1k miles on the braking rotor, I probably need to change the pads cause they are getting thin.

Going to put EBR rotor back back on, I picked up an extra so I don't have to pull the X apart again.
