my 2009 XB12Scg build out...

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

Anything below 4000 rpms has a "surging" feeling. As if the fueling isn't correct (on, off, on, off) even though the throttle grip is relatively in the same position. Above 4k it's not there or at least not as noticeable as below 4k rpms.

Purchased the bike, unseen by me, and had it shipped to Florida.

What shipping company did you use? I'm looking to have a bike shipped to the Boston area and I am looking for a reliable company. How much should I expect the rates to be? If anyone has shipped a bike and has a reliable person, please let me know.

I have used Haul Bikes twice. For my 2008 XB12XT shipment from California to Florida and then for this shipment (the XB12Scg).

Seems they are on the higher end of pricing but they were very good with communication and delivery. Bike is completely covered in an enclosed trailer (hard sides, not soft). One thing though, their trucks are very big and place restrictions on where they will pick up and drop off bikes. Keep that in mind. I would recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again.

Well purchased some carbon fiber parts from MDI Carbon.

Result? Complete failure.

After 7 weeks of waiting only received 3 of the 5 parts ordered and they are all jacked.

Front fender does not sit square when mounted. If's slightly to the left from the rider's view.

Rear fender, well, was just wrong. I think it's for a Xb12Ss I was very specific in my order to indicate I have a XB12Scg.

Finally, the chin cowl does not line up. I would have to dremel one of the holes to make it fit.

Indeed complete failure. And now I'm getting the runaround from MDI to get my money back. Maybe I'm being an a$$ but I asked for return shipping (their dime). They won't do it. And I have no idea what is the status on the two I still have not received. They are no longer responding to my emails.

They suck. Do not buy from them, ever.

I went ahead and purchased all my items from ASB. Should have done this from the beginning. In stock and will be here within 5 days.

I replaced the Chinese carbon fiber crap with carbon fiber pieces from American Sport Bike.

Not the greatest pictures but I purchased a front fender, chin cowl, pulley cover, rear fender and oil cooler cover.

This time I used VHT Flameproof (to 2000F).

The paint I originally used (prior posts) was up to 650F.

We'll see how this paint holds. If it discolors again I'm not going through the process, I'll pay someone to apply ceramic....

I would sandblast the muffler instead sandpapering, it might work better.

Cleaned and "protected" the carbon fiber pieces today.

And then threw on the white plastics...

White was so clean (straight out of the box) it got washed out on my camera; couldn't handle it so the pic isn't the best (looks like it's glowing).
