I searched and searched on here and a few other places for ideas or something that I could buy and bolt on.... Nothing to my liking so I did it the old fashioned way, I made one. Here are a couple of pictures since we all know that the thread is worthless with out them! (just overlook the dirtiness, she needs a bath I know...)

And one of my favorite views....

Let me know what y'all think. So far I'm thinking I am going to have to throw a bead down the center of the curved piece since it vibrates a little too much for my liking.

I also still need to figure out a lighting solution and chop off the grater, oh and figure out some turn signals (but I have a pretty good idea for those)

Thanks guys, I told her to turn her flashers on but she wouldnt listen to me.

After I finalize it I am going to powdercoat it black and attach it for good.

Headlights over the tail lights?

nice headlights! are both always on??? :D

the mod is what i was contemplating long ago, but not enough time.

i went with a straight shot brace down the swingarm. however it lasted a day or so, and vibrated off in the end

some xtra reinforcement might help ur invention last longer; and its basicly a really smooth concept! [up]

Well I rode today with the new guard in place and didnt like how bad it vibrated so I broke out the bead roller and threw a couple in it for some rigidity and an additional one on the side purely for looks. Then I powdercoated it (ignore the blotchyness on the top, my gun went bonkers and spit out a crap load of powder.... I will just recoat it again later)

That is seriously clean![up] Love the headlights too (but they belong in another thread...)

Thanks Pockets... I dont think my better half would like me to show what would need to be shown in another thread...

That looks good. I would like to see a cops eye view though from the looks of the pics it faces more up than back which could cause some unwanted interactions with the 5.0

Good point B. If it was rolled more to the back, then legal issues could be more easily avoided.

First off, F*@! the 5-0.....lol

No really though the plate is nice a readable from the rear of the bike. I will take a POV shot from my truck when I get home.

Im more concerned about the lack of lighting more so than the visibility of it right now. I just dont ride at dusk or night until I get it lit up.

sweet... Maybe look into the led bolts I have them on my plate and they put out quite an ipressive amount of light

re: lighting it up. A couple LEDs mounted under the tail section, Pointed down should be sufficient.
A 12V equivalent like the ones used in a 4 Cell Magnum flash light will light up the entire under side of the bike at night.

I have an idea but Im not sure it will work like I want it to. I will test it out and go from there, but it does involve LEDs of the SMD type
