My bike wont stay running

With the kickstand down the bike will take off, but if its up as soon as i begin to let out the clutch the redlight on the bike comes on and the engines dies. 2003 xb9s

did you try unplugging the kickstand switch and see if that works?

i dont know where that switch is? but I would like that to work properly because i always forget to put up the stand lol

i usually forget too, until i make a left hand turn lol, the switch is part of the kick stand usually where the kick stand bolts to the motor there is usually a electrical clip 2 prong. u can try cleaning that connection with electrical degreaser and then using di electric grease , or you could have a short somwhere in the wiring to the switch. with electrical it cna be many things.

if you download the manual from the link at the top of this forum for the 2003 firebolt it has it on page 2-83. this will be the same stuff on your bike. if the switch is faulty then you should be able to unplug it until you can get another one.
