So I picked this up beast 2 days ago . . .
I bought it in Delaware and had to ride it all the back to central Virginia due to the fact I and anyone I know doesn't own a truck. My previous riding experience has been on a 1982 Honda 250 custom . . . so lets just say BIG JUMP to my XB12S/R. The ride home for the most part was pretty simple straight highways and a little traffic. Well about 20 mins from my house it started to rain. . . Not the bad, I've ridden the Honda in the rain before I could deal with it. Well then it start to rain harder and harder and I think maybe some hail also. . . Also from where I was then to my house was all back road and no where to stop and get out of the storm. So here I am riding in a terrible thunderstorm on back roads, branches from trees start falling down and thanks to my Lightning I can quickly dodge them left and right even on the wet road. That wasn't the worse part, the worse part was when I'd get to a open area and the wind gust were blowing across the road I could see cars getting pushed around. I just hunched down and squeezed my knees and went into to it head first. The wind would push me all over but my Lightning barley moved. By this point I could see power lines down from a tree on the side of the road. My my Lighting wasn't going to give up. After wave of branches and wind gust and me saying to myself "Lightning won't strike a Lightning" Haha I finally made it home and into the garage and where I cleaned and praised my new Lighting for the safe ride. After that trip home I'd like to think I'm a expert at riding my Lightning now. Haha

Glad you made it home safe. Talk about building a bond between you are your bike right away! I don't think your picture worked though...

HAHAHA thats funny you say that, a lot of people tell me I look like Gary Sinise.
PICS !!!!!

by the way, that is one freaking beautiful bike man.

that crimson color is addicting..

That's a bad ass first ride. I love trying toout ride a storm or try to get home before it Hits, and fighting the high winds. But thats very rare.

cool scoot, man. Where in central Va are you? Im in Richmond. PM if youre ever headed thru

Thanks guys. I will def get some pucks, probably gonna take some pic of myself on the bike so you can see if there is a resemblance haha, and I actually live in Virginia Beach atm but i do ride to richmond sometimes, but I'm also moving to NYC next month so. . .

They don't call it a bad weather bike for nothing. I run Roadsmarts on my XB and constantly fly by cars slowing down in storms because they can't drive in it and I'm just riding along. My XB is my main form of transportation for this reason.

Yea about the exhaust, the PO was trying to copy the Drummer exhaust and took a stock one and gutted it, shorted it, put baffles back into it and changed the end cap . . . so I was thinking I should get a new one.
