I am now a proud owner of a 2003 buell firebolt xb9r. This is my first buell and i was wondering if you guys could tell me what to expect with it. Any information you could give me would be very helpful thank you.

Expect to get "checked out", snubbed by other sport bikes, snubbed by cruisers, cheered on by other Buellers and not caring because you'll fall in love with the bike over and over and over again! :-D

Lol! [up] Good looking bike! Take a good look at it now, because more than likely you'll make so many modifications to it, it'll look different in a year! Ride the piss out of it! Congrats.

i get what you are saying to be honest it wasn't on the top of my list when it came to picking out a bike. then i started looking into it and saw how different it was i became interested. then i got the chance to sit on one and start the v-twin and i was sold.

ahhhh! looks like you finally came over to the dark side. guy in town here has the twin to your blue 03 bolt, has over 35,000 miles on it last i saw and still runs great, looks like new. maintain it properly, ride it sensibly, keep it out of stop and go high temp conditions if possible and you'll have very few problems. treat it like a rice-rocket rental from your local honda dealer and you'll be on here posting alot of "she blew up" type threads.

Ok I'll do that it's got 15000 miles on it and I have to change the spark plugs today. I still can't get over how bada** it sounds and is

lighten it up as much as you can, get the right tools youll need to take stuff off and service it when needed. Its a fairly easy bike to work on. I dont ride with my passenger pegs and I lost some weight with a carbon exhaust. Now Im looking at getting rid of the battery and going over to a race battery that saves around 10 lbs of weight. The bike is already real light but trimming extra weight off and ecm mods are the first mod I always do. Make sure you got a good fron tire on it and always keep the psi in spec, the XB has a sensitive front end... if a tire gets too worn or the psi is too low, the front wheel will bounce like crazy under braking, it will make you think you got a warped rotor. The solid rotor mount kit lessens this effect a bit but its usually a sign that your front tire is getting worn.. oh and XBs like rear brake along with front brake in turns.. its not like a Jap bike where you can just depend on front brake all the time.. with a XB you gotta throw in a touch of rear to keep the bike settled down. Thats all I can think of right off hand..those are the thing to watch for.. oh and get your suspension settings dialed in correctly for your weight.. XBs are real sensitive to suspension settings..you gotta try out a few settings for yourself until you find one that feels right for you.

Haha i called him and he told me he sold it. Gratz! Did you get that stuttering fixed?
