Yesterday I picked up this really nice 03’ XB9R with about 15K on it. It is in really nice shape too and has already had fresh brakes, full synthetic oil changes, fresh battery, new belt and I just put new tires on it today. It has only a few little scratches on it and is in almost showroom condition.
I have had a lot of bikes but this is my first Buell and the first time I have ever ridden a Buell. From reading another post on here, I discovered that mine has a Buell competition only exhaust. It sounds pretty good and the bike seems to run really well with it. I can only assume it was re-mapped for it.
I put almost a 100 miles on it today after throwing tires at it. So far, I really like it.
Anybody got any ideas on luggage? I was thinking of maybe a tank bag but I am not sure if I like the idea of a tank bag or not. I will also have a passenger on it every now and then and it would be nice to be able to take along a few things when she is with me.
Any other thoughts on the bike would be great.

Welcome to the family. I use a tail bag when i'm ridin' solo. The wife wears a backpack type of girlie bag when 2up. Whatever your needs, everyone on here is more than willing to help/ suggest. enjoy!

congratulations on the new bike! i have the same thing!....sorta.... I bought mine with about the same mileage as yours has, and i'm at about 40k three years later. Mine is an 03 as well, it used to be blue.

Yours does have a race pipe on it. If you ever pull the Front fairing off you can look at your ECM to see if it is a race ECM. (somebody could have remapped the stock one to a race map as well) Besides that get a K&N if it doenst have one already and call it a day for the race set up! Good luck with the bike, and have fun modding it!!

Congrats bud! I know just how you feel too, picked up my 03' with 7400 miles on it not long ago after wanting one for YEARS. Like lman said, if ya get around to it pull the front fairing and take a look at the ECM and if you don't have an K&N throw one at it. I had the race pipe on mine when I got it and a K&N in the stock box but it still had the stock map. Ran great (aside from maybe a few low rpm and cold things). I got ECMSpy and a race map, after some playing with it and making an open airbox, it made a world of difference. Not sure what kind of luggage would work best WITH a passenger, you'd be down to a tank bag or her wearing a backpack lol. Where are you located? I like that blue, here's my 03':
