glad to hear your ok!! this sucks to read even after i had my little spill compaired to your wreck i have been thinking about selling my bike just for the fact im in school and i depend on my 100% health as a personal trainer. i would lose everything i had if i broke my arm or foot :(

Wow normally I get a sick gut feeling when i see a Buell banged up like that but in this case F the bike. I wish you a speedy recovery. But make sure you respect that rehab time and let that body heal as best as possible.

And thank you for sharing. Stories like this keep me from wheelin and riding on the edge.

And if you don't believe God exists please tell me how a member on buelletineboard just survived being rear ended at a dead stop bu a truck pulling a boat going 60mph...

Chance. The same "reason" he was hit in the first place. The devil didn't cause him to get hit, and god didn't save him.

And if all the surgeons you know perceive their patients to be just another faceless client, then you need to surround yourself with better physicians. I grew up surrounded by surgeons, each one totally involved and committed to the health and success of their patients. Granted, trauma and orthopedic surgeons tend to be more outcome-oriented than human-oriented, I will give you that.

Statistically, maybe you should have died, but it was human intervention alone that ensured you wound up, however unlikely, alive.

It's not about the god debate, and whether one person believes that one exists or not. It's about being grateful to the right people, who busted their ass and likely had to drop other, less-important things to make sure that you wound up alive and coherent with the best shot at a mobile future.

Edit: Sheesh, on second read this comes across as really harsh. That's not my intention. It's just a topic that's very close to home (had my life saved numerous times by surgeons. You're welcome to believe whatever you'd like, and I hope that you heal quick as hell!

Thanks for sharing, stories like this make us all realize we're not invincible. God works in mysterious ways. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and God bless.

its good to hear your still with us and will be able to carry on with your goal of helping others.[up] to you for not being bitter and staying positive.

i must admit i really feel uncomfortable to hear of your extensive injuries and it really hits home that all the great advantages of riding can also reveal to be such a dangerous way to travel. I appreciate you taking the time to write about your accident and i admire the way you sound like your handling the situation. A very brave young man and i wish you a speedy and trouble free recovery.take care everyone out on the bike.

God bless you,I have been injured several times on dirtbikes (2 broken ankles/split shin, broken ribs/punctured lung) which left me out of work for months.I tell everyone I know about AFLAC cause they pay for each broken bone. It allowed me ,with dissability, and the accident policy to keep my house, and not fall behind on payments. The duck pays,I have posted before-not a sales pitch,I lived it. Hope your recovery goes well.Keep a post so folks know how your doing.

Metlife covered me when I completely wrecked a 4 month old bike. My health insurance Aetna covered my hospital bill for the most part. I had to pay 1500 out of pocket but still better than paying all 13,000.

Great testimony & story - takes guts to throw that up on public forum. God speed on your continued recovery. [up]
