Its heavy for a carbon fiber helmet, really heavy actually. Our helmet rep brought one by last week and it was ok to me but not great. Also at highway speeds you will catch a lot of wind especially behind semis it makes you feel like a bobble head just a warning. Almost forgot I have a dual sport very similar and probably won't be buying another. The only reason I still wear this one is, when it's really hot it has great airflow due to the rather large opening under the chin area that this one doesn't have!

Just my 2 pennies!

My only advice is to get the tinted visor, not the gold. The reflective visors scratch super easily, and you can see every scratch through the inside of the visor. The tinted ones are much easier to live with.

i also have the variant, very very good helmet. I used to wear the RX7 corsair, the variant is roughly the same weight, and very quiet---listening to headphones on the highway is a breeze. I have the chrome shield on mine but will soon be switching to the tinted, it is very difficult to see out of the chrome at night but the tinted is only a minor inconveniance. Very breathable in summer time and very nice in the winter time with no fogging whatsoever, i rode this mornign to work at it was 45 and i have never had any fog in this helmet. Other than all of that, it is a very good quality helmet, i would recommend it, and i still get a ton of compiments on it also!! [up]

i disagree with the weight, i do see where youre coming from on the "bobble head" thing, but hell youre goign to have that problem with any fullface helmet on a windy day

I tell ya what grab an HJC carbon in one hand and the Varient in another and you will see difference I'm talking about even our Rep for the Helmet House agreed it's too heavy for a carbon fiber shell. But to each his own if you feel it's a good weight for you, rock on man and enjoy!!!!
