I agree I'm not new to bikes, I grew up riding dirt bikes. But my XB12s is my second street bike, the first was a 78 Honda CB550 cafe racer that is far less powerful than my Buell. I ride with a group of friends with fast sport bikes and went to a very twisty canyon road as soon as I got it. I tried to keep up with them and scared the crap out of myself. So yes take it slow at first and you'll know when your ready to push the limits. By the way welcome from one noob to another. The best advice I can give is ride within your limits. Don't try to do something you see another rider do that you are not yet comfortable at. Definately take the motorcycle safety course, it's well worth it. Good luck!
in about 6 months, they will be trying to keep up with you in those twistiesshilohsk8 said:I ride with a group of friends with fast sport bikes and went to a very twisty canyon road as soon as I got it. I tried to keep up with them and scared the crap out of myself.
- I need to find out where the motorcycle Safety Course is located near the Cincinnati Ohio area.
Since you obviously have internet access do a search for "motorcycle safey foundation ohio" or something similar to get the results you want. Also most harley dealers offer the "Riders Edge" program. Word of caution though, they are a lot more expensive and will try to sell you an HD. The MSF supplies bikes and helmets. They are also way cheap, $20 in Illinois. Classes fill up fast so hurry
Sorry me no spell well, but I try.
