I have had my 09 XB12R for about 4 months now and absolutely love it! You folks have been a big help with modification info and places to go for products. I have done the breather mod with my own little twist of mounting the breather beside my rear shock which keeps it out of the rain. I also mounted a Jardine slip on which sounds fantastic. I would say my only complaint with the bike is its low rpm performance. This thing just does not like a slow rolling takeoff from a stop light when it is up to temperature. If I bring the rpm's up to about 1700 - 1800 from a dead stop all is well, but just off of idle she is gasping for more. I guess this is just the nature of the beast. Thanks again. Crewdog

well you lost a lot of torque when you put that jardine on. The breather re route should have solved some of the the off the line hesitation.

How many miles do you have on it? It takes a while for these engine to get fully broken in.

Sounds like it is running lean. The 09's run really lean to begin with so they pass epa standards. Adding the Jardine probably made it worse. When the engine is cold the ecm adds a little extra fuel in the lower rpm range. That is why it runs better when cold. Looks like it might be time to do some ecm tuning.

I just past 1000 miles the other day. As far as the Jardine, I did install the quiet insert to cut the noise and flow down a little. I just could not live with the stock sound. If it is lean it couldn't be too far off as I have almost no decel pop or backfire thru the exhaust. Take into consideration that all of my tuning experience is with carbs, so I really might not know what the heck I am talking about! Ha-Ha. She is surely a strong runner and I love the feel of a strong mid-range motor. I will keep running her and possibly look for a fuel map in the future. Thanks much. Crewdog

its to late nw but i would say throw a drumme pipe on it. i did the switch and its much better than jardine (i think). like they all said after time the bike will run better, or you will just get used to riding it like it is:D
