need a tip on installation

have never owned an R, so hence the needed tip: what is the norm on installing the tail section plastics? upper first then lower or the other way around? don't wanna bugger something up...

With the plastic shell upside down slide the seat toward the back into the two grooves on either side, then the front will clip under the front of the plastic shell.

Hope that makes sense. I can take a couple pics when I get home if need be.

oh dur... guess i should have read closer. It should just push forward from the back as you work it over the metal frame, I installed my locking mechanism first then work the lines around as I screwed it on.

this weekend I might put the R tail on the bike and give it a try for a bit. did the S to R front end conversion two years ago and lasted for a month before returning it back to it's original state. not that I didn't like it, just couldn't ride in that position any more. have to try it out and see what happens, either way I can go back to the Lightning tail with two flavors, chopped or not

I think the R tail is the same on XB's and 1125R's. Attach the lower plastic pan first. The tail cover then goes over the frame/lower pan assembly. Does that make sense?

yeap, makes sense...tried it on the bench, sort of a pain since it's not actually mounted. thanks for the tip Saturday morning I'll begin the conversion, shouldn't take very long since everything has been planned out.....knocking on wood
