Hi,

i'm having heaps of trouble trying to find a drive belt for a Uly.

cant seem to find anything.

its a 2005 XB12X

any help would be greatly appreciated.

No 05 uly, it was probably a production date of 05.

YES all long chassis belts will fit!

Do you need one now? I could pull my belt off my bike which has a small chip in it. I planned to use it as a spare at 30k when I put my new belt on... Used one has done hundreds of wheelies, lots of gravel road and a few high speed runs but no issues as of now...

American Sportbike:

17057 - 04+ XB Drive Belt

Here's the description:

OEM Drive belt standard on all 04-09 XB models (except 06 XB12X and 06XB12Ss, see 17176). 14mm tooth pitch, 1.125" wide, 128 teeth long. Now utilizes aramid-reinforced Goodyear Hibrex belt with Flexten Plus technology standard on all 06 Buell models, with an unlimited service interval recommendation.

I don't understand why is this a big deal. HD dealer will give you correct, up to date belt specific to your VIN.
keep it simple, just go to your dealer

I believe DrogeN Omen lives in New Zealand and the belts are in the $300+ price range and/or very hard to come by so a cheaper and/or easier to obtain belt that will do the same job is not a bad idea.

yeah I'm in NZ, cost for a belt from HD Dealer is $350+ shipping if they don't have it in stock.

if i need it fitted its an extra $150 (lucky i can fit it myself) so quickly turns into a $500+ belt replacement...

www.americansportbike.com charge $414.96NZD shipped to NZ :(

www.srwmoto.com.au charge $294.34NZD shipped to NZ :) [up] I'll go with Peter from SRWMoto i think.

well in that case, why not try HD dealer :)
if it makes you feel better I drive Australian Holden Monaro and Ausie parts are pretty expensive in the USA
please excuse my ignorance
