So, updates:
1) last fill-up i got 35mpg [sad]
2) got in touch with xopti and am going to check some things out and see what he says
3) yesterday, changed the primary oil (don't think it'd ever been changed) and engine oil (does anyone else have to beat the oil filter off with hammer?)
4) so i'll take the bike out and try to run through a tank of gas and see what the mileage is, check those things out and see what xopti says
5) "fingers crossed"

To summarize, your only current problem is ****** gas mileage? The bike runs great? When you reset the TPS, did you also reset the AFV?

Yeah, reset your AFV. You need to ride around for approx. 10 minutes at constant 3000-3500 rpm (to get closed-loop fueling) then immediately set your AFV to 100%.

But really, you need to let the bike operate in closed-loop fueling for the AFV to really make sense. If your O2 sensor is bad, I don't think your AFV will ever change... not to mention you should throw a CEL

Your TPS and AFV look nearly identical to mine with the same setup. If the bike runs fine, it may just be your driving habits. Or you need more air in the tires.:D

i ******* give up.....32mpg no matter what

i'm debating on dropping the motor and doing a rebuild, even though i don't want to do that

only other thing i can think is maybe an air leak, causing extra fuel to be dumped in

anybody have any thoughts?

Just out of curiousity, have you tested your intake seals? It sounds to me like they may be leaking.

Take starter fluid and spray around the intake seals with the bike running. If you're idle jumps up, you've got a leak.

just to be clear, are you talking about where the intake connects to the throttle body, or where the throttle body connects to the cylinder, or both?

i'm getting so tired of this bike.....i mean i love it, but trying to get it running at its peak is driving me crazy. now it seems like its lost 20% of its power. i have to rev the crap out of it from a stop to get it to go.....it feels like its in 2nd or 3rd gear from a stop (no, i always check and make sure i'm in 1st)
