So I bought an 03 xb9r has 12000 miles on it and my issue is when riding to work it runs fine but as soon as I get to work the bike dies start it back up idles just fine but when I go to take off again start letting out on the clutch the bike just dies but starts right back up just won't go

you perhaps work for ebr and the bike just doesn't want to leave?

Haha I wish but no the bike I think is just allergic to military bases

I'm not sure but it sounds like a kick stand switch problem.

Try bypassing the switch to see if that solves the problem.

remove plug from switch, jump the 2 plug wires.

So an update on the problem seems to be happening after the fan comes on and not be fore is there a temp switch that could be acting up and causing this issue?

Locate your regulator/stator plug connections behind the cover that's in between the pulley and cam-cover on the right side of the bike (as your sitting on it). Unplug the connections and look for arcing/melting/burning on the connectors. If so then the regulator is going out. 03's - 07's have an old style plug that was updated in 08.

When its idling its vibrating more so check your battery connections to. Also if your clutch is going out after it gets hot, then I would check your primary for any issues. Could just be you need to change the primary fluid.
