Need race map please!!!

Help Support Buellxb Forum:

I have an 07 XB12Ss (K&N and a Jardine exhaust), which is of course not running correctly.

So, my question is "which would be best, a remapping of my ecm via Ecmspy or purchasing the race ECM from EBR?
Thanks!

I'd like to get my hands on a race map for an 09 XB9 BUEZD.

I read that we can't just manually copy over maps from a DDFI2 to a DDFI3. Does anyone know if that's true or have any more info on the topic?

I have copied fuel maps before. that took a bit of work, but I can share. I am running a bit hot though and working on sorting that. I just put on a D&D and K&N with Open air box.

@ninjadestroyer - Did you have to do anything special when copying maps from an older ECM type to DDFI3?

I don't have much in terms of mods, just a K&N filter, but the availability of XB9 maps seems to be limited. I could only find a 2007 XB9 race map set.

I don't mind if it's time consuming copying cell to cell; I just need a little guidance.

Thanks for any help.

@s0dhi Di you have a DDFI3? I just used excell to get the maps in the correct values, then took the thing to a text editor to make sure the spacing was correct, and switched out the values. I then just loaded them into ECMSpy, and uploaded... no issues. the Cooling I am seeing is a factor of the maps on the stock ECM which I am working on solving. I have a BUEZD and my fuel map is great atm, a bit of popping on decel, but overall great performance. If you need I can share.

@ninjadestroyer - sadly I don't think we can share since I have an XB9. When you pulled the older (DDFI1/2) race maps into excel, was there any other manipulation required to the numbers? Multiplication factor etc? Or was it just a case of massaging the race map values to fit into the rows and columns of the newer (DDFI3) map structure?

Thanks!

I had to alter the maps from the map file to change the <space> to a <tab> and then copied and pasted into excell. I changed the values as needed and copied to a text ediitor and changed the <tab> back to a <space> and pasted back on the maps, saved as a new name, and inserted into the ecmspy... pretty simple really.

@ninjadestroyer - OK, so I'm on the right track. I'm just finishing up a spreadsheet that maps the 2007 fuel values to the 2009 row/column format, calculating values where the row/column does exist in the 2009 map.

Did you also convert and apply the timing map?

In case anyone wants a copy of the excel sheet, I can share it when I'm done.

I just compared my 2009 timing map against the 2007 race timing map and my stock map seems to run more aggressive timing. It doesn't make sense to me other than the 2009 timing maps may be optimized further than the 2007 race.

Are folks only copying the fuel maps, or is there value in picking up the timing maps as well?

@S0dhi

I tried the race / timing map and the xb12 ran like crap. I went back to original timing and just beefed up my fuel maps and my bike runs like a bat out of hell! I just need some Fan maps for the DDFI3 so I can cool my bike better.

I have a bit of tweeking to get my fuel map right and Ill post it up.

@ninjadestroyer - Thanks for the info! I've created a few versions of the bin with different configurations for the 2009 XB9 BUEZD DDFI-3.

1x Race fuel and timing
1x Race fuel and stock timing
1x Race fuel and maxed out stock/race timing (max timing values from stock and race timing maps blended)

Now it's time to do some flashing and testing. :D

@S0dhi

Let me know how it goes.

You dont have fan maps with vaues for speeds on the ddfi3 do you? I need to cool down my engine.

I'll let you know how it goes... between the rain and my wife's evening shift (I got the kiddies), I haven't had a moment to get out and tinker.

BTW, here are the fan settings I could find...
