In the time it has taken to get these responses, I probably would have had the parts on order! $1000 is a steal, and if you are mechanically inclined, it shouldn't be a big deal to fix it up. If you have buddies that are into bikes, I would enlist their help on rigging and lifting the front end.

Someone could chime in and tell you who could straighten out the forks. I might be able to find a black font wheel from a dealer here. Their prices are a little salty, but they have had the same wheels at the last several "garage sales" they have had. Let me know if I can help you out. I've had mine apart down to the engine block, so I (and man others on here) could offer some help on disassembly and reassembly. Also, if the front wheel is mangled, I wouldn't trust the front rotor either. Go to www.erikbuellracing.com to find a good replacement rotor that is better than new. With some TLC, new fluids and parts, you could have a rare and fun ride!

everybody else is right, it'd be a great investment you could fix and flip if you wanted to, but i feel youd enjoy riding it to much once it was fixed up.

Thank you guys for the opinions! They have really helped out, i still have a little thinking to do about buying it "in the process of buying a house" but luckily i have a little time to think about it before he sells to someone else. Tomorrow when i see him im going to let him know I am very interested in the bike and most likely going to buy it from him. Also I will take a few more pictures of the parts that are broken. He isn't in to much of a rush to sell it because he still owes 2500$ on the damn thing!

The comment about not trusting the front rotor is spot on, that had crossed my mind but i didn't think about it when i was writing my first post, also was thinking if i found a lightly used wheel it would have a reliable one on it already.

One thing i was going to look at is if the aluminium bracket that hold the gauges/ wind screen/ headlights/ ect broke clean with no chunks missing I can try and weld it back together. From my first glance at it it does not seem to be any sort of load bearing piece and i am very well versed with welding AL. Or i might be able to machine a whole new piece if i can get good enough dimensions off the broken one and can manage to get some machine time at my buddies shop.

I have gotten a couple PM's about guys on here with some of the parts im looking for and those are much appreciated! If anyone happens to stumble onto any of the parts on this site, local, or online elsewhere feel free to PM me the info, even if i have found the part i wont be ordering for a while and who knows if the one you found is a better price!

Thanks again for everyone's help!! If anyone else wants to chime in i'm more than happy to hear more input!

If he still owes 2500 on it, and you buy it for 1000, he needs to pay that 1500 off before the bike is yours.
Aside from that, I'm jealous of your find! IF you part it out I call first dibs on the swingarm

If you dont buy it, hook me up with his digits and I will. Even with shipping Id buy it for a project Buell and do something crazy with it.
