hey fellow buellers, I was just wondering how many people have a difficult time putting your bikes into neutral? its a real bitch for me. my old cbr was great at that, it almost felt like another gear, but this buell always wants to just pass into the next gear without any little click or anything. I have to sit there and shift up and down from 1 to 2 back and forth until I get it.

try adjusting your clutch and or a primary oil change. i mean adjusting the clutch internally not the cable.

Mine is kind of a bitch too compared to my old Hondas. The last owner said it is on average more difficult than most bikes but I would try the clutch adjustment even if it is new.

I wouldn't say a bitch: my 05 is effortless mostly. The 09 is a bit more sticky, but it's barley broken in too. I can't say any of the bikes I've owned, mostly japs, were a dream sliding into neutral.

My issue is compeletly opposite. I put my to 1st and it goes into a "false neutral" and just coast. I usually have to pop it to 2nd and back to 1st then book it for holding traffic or almost getting hit. Mines an '09 with a little over 1800 miles on it. Just did the 1st maintance last week and hasn't done it so far. I guess I'll wait for time take it's toll.

my 09 XB12Ss is not that easy to get into angel gear but has had the same feel since new. It now has 9000kms on it and i feel that its consistant, so perhaps thats what i can expect. It is not silky smooth in its duties but i love the character of my bike.If i had the coin i would buy another. One Buell is never enough.

Well i had the same problem with my new 2010 XB12SX, the first 2 days riding around was really rough to get it into neutral. Made me second guess myself! [smirk], but now after putting a bit more than 120KM on it, seems to have smoothed out allot!
From 1st to N is normal now, from 2nd to N is still a bit tricky sometimes.
i'll just have to wait a bit longer and see :)

I have a 2005 XB12S and when i first got it i had about 5,000 miles on it and it was at first a realy pain in the ass getting it into neutral but now that i have gotten use to it, its much easier. Maybe it just takes some gettting use to.
