NEW 2004 12R with 2 miles! - Ride or Sell?

I would change the oil before riding it too. Actually, I'd change all the fluids but that's just me.

I know that the Screaming Eagle SYN3 oil can be used for break in without issue. Well, it says so on the bottle anyways.

Those pictures are amazing... I have the same bike. 2004 XB12R in Black & Gold. But after 17k miles, being hit by a drunk driver, and more than a few mods, mine doesn't look so pretty anymore.

Not sure how much longer I can hold out! I'm putting a fresh set of tires on it this week so it's ready to go!

Fresh Dunlop Q3s mounted up!

That's just insane, I still don't believe you even with the pics! To much of a fairy tale story, just can't be real! See if Eric will trade you a 1190 for that 2 mile xb. That would be my first thought! :D

I would park it in my living room or man cave. Maybe find a lean display that buell used for IMS shows and mount it on that. Then charge people to get their picture taken on it.

Ride it. I don't care if Erik Buell himself owned it. Motorcycles are meant to be ridden. If it were say a homologation bike or something to that extent I would say (maybe) park it. Even then that is debatable in my eyes! Haha. You won't ever own a new Buell in your life probably.

Dude, I'd probably display it and find another bike to ride. That's just me though. I'm the same way with rare cars and other rare or unique items.

OK, I rode it!
Put just over 300 miles on it so far. Changed the oil & filter after the first ride (75 miles)
.
Bike runs perfect as it should. What a blast! Is it me or are you speeding before you know it?
I think I just love hearing the engine going through the gears!

I would love to keep it, but I can't justify 3 street bikes on insurance and I have my eye on another V-twin.

For sale to a good home, $6500

Personally, I don't think you'll ever get 6.5k for it. There's way too many nice examples available for 1.5-2k less. Maybe if you wouldn't have ridden it the extra miles and sold to a museum or collector...

Glad you enjoyed the miles on it though [up]
