Riding to work this morning and shifting started going south in the span of 30 minutes. Had trouble shifting into neutral. Eventually, when I came to a stop, I would have the clutch pulled all the way in and I would have to use the brake from pulling forward and giving it throttle to keep from stalling. At this point the clutch lever had a ton of slack before it would catch. I stopped at a gas station and used the adjuster to take up the slack. Everything was fine for about two blocks and all the slack came back. I parked it and had it towed. There was no fraying of the cable at the lever and the adjuster was very tight. What could be the problem?

Can you elaborate on how you determined it was the throw out bearing?
I ask for the sake of those that may stumble upon this thread looking for answers to a similar issue

I took it to a shop because I've only had Hondas and Suzukis and only know how to work on them. I replied with the issue just in case people search for the problem I had and it may help them.
