New and need help

i own a 2007 buell xb9sx and my brake light wont trip when i use ether the hand brake or foot brake.

You have checked the bulb, right, both not functioning screams bulb to me, but may be a chafed wire under the seat, does the running light work?

I agree with the bulb, if not it sounds like one of the wires either got pinched or simply a loose connection to the back of the brake light. Hold the lever down and try wiggling those connectors and see if it flashes on at all. I know from any of the times I pulled my wires out and plugged them back in I had to play with them a little before they'd work just right.

I had same problem, turned out to be both switches on my 04 had failed .
Also check your wiring under the seat and check the bulb too.
check to see if the contacts on the rear bulb are moving mine had moved, previous owner had jammed the light in and ruined the prongs that hold the bulb in place

the runing light works just dosnt get brighter when i hit ether brake and thanks i will check all that

I posted this to another member that had issues but my brake light wasn't working either. I ended up just rotating the bulb in the socket a little so it didn't sit tight but it started working.

Mine the ground would come disconnected. Under the seat...all the way in the back there three wires.
