New Battery Location...

Has anyone moved their battery to the space above the exhaust just in front of the rear tire like Magpul Ronin has? I think this is a great idea and was checking if anyone figured out how to do it on stock 1125Rs yet.

I have seen some what batteries do when they got hot.. I would like to see if there was a way to do this without the battery getting too hot... I would do it just for more storage space..

you need a heat barrier / platform to mount the battery...not clear how it's mounted in the pic above, but maybe tied into the rear sets possibly and the rear of the engine case...is there any other close ups of that area?

What would be the purpose? Are going to make changes to the tail?

Maybe just getting more room under the tail foe storage.. or keeping weight down low.. at that point I would just buy a smaller and lighter battery

This is a great idea as it does get more weight down lower - also freeing up the former space where the battery is normally.

I work at a machine shop.. maybe I'll see about getting a bracket made from aluminum to do this..

Great thought and I love the look but yeah, major concerns on battery heat issues being right on top of the exhaust.
Looking forward to pics & review if you pull it off.

Hmm another reason to be in the garage just got the keda rt3 and in need of a new battery. Might get a smaller one and have it offset to the left a little.

Dang, that's one bad looking bike! I like the idea of moving the battery down, but it might be worth the time to make weatherproof and heat proof box to set it in.
