need to know how to put a new bracket for clutch cable on my firebolt,I got the better one that replaces the stupid little wire but do I unhook cable from lever and slide new bracket from asb on at that end or what, thanks:D

service manual would help you figure out the easiest way pobably unless some one has done the same mod. service manual at top of page . clutch cable and more are basicly the same on all xb year models for the 12's & 9's..

I would imagine that sliding it down from top would be best unless you plan on changing your primary oil out. then it should be a quick swap out... Mine is not the wire I have an 04 but mine kinda works like a clamp you can spread it insert the the bracket around the cable then bend it back and put a bolt threw the two holes and bolt it back... do you have a pic of the bracket?

is it the 17311 - XB Clutch Cable Restraint Bracket.

do you have it now or is still being shiped. in the asb pic it looks like you might just spead it( the holding tabs that go around the cable to hold it in place) open somewhat then squeeze them closed not pinching or touch the cable . then just bolt it to the engine where the old screw was holding the old wire holder on. (asb usually sends instructions with there parts.)

i agree browland pics always help. i thought he was talking about something else.

I will get pics as soon as I can, also I have the part now,may try to open gently and press back on, thanks for input everyone:D
