New Buell Owner here

Hello all!

I am picking up my "new to me" 2006 XB12Ss next week. Got it off of a guy with too many toys and not enough time to play with them all. Im not new to bikes though, I had a 2005 Honda 600RR, hit by idiot on a cell phone, totaled with me on it back in the fall of '05. I also had a 2005 Harley 1200 Custom, sold it not too long after the accident due to the jitters and heavy pressure by loved ones.

Needless to say I have been off of bikes for a few years now, except for my recent stint riding the gf's Vespa LX150. I always liked the Buell look and appeal, I wanted to buy a Lightning back when I got my Honda but the steep price tag ran me off. I found a 2006 XB12Sswith 4600 miles and a few add ons in "like new" condition for a smoking deal that I couldnt pass on. Im heading down to get it next week when the guy returns from a business trip.

I look forward to riding one of the most unique and best handling bikes out there very soon and to learning as much as I can about the thing from the resources on this forum.

bike looks good!
although (according to the picture) apart from the amber heelplates and the removal of the mirrors, i wouldn't know what kind of add-ons are on the bike [smirk]

Sorry, I forgot to list the extras. It has a Ulysses air box, performance air filter (believe its the Buell filter), the heel plates, and a fender delete kit (not on the bike yet). Ide like to get some nice, small turn signals, possibly LED, any ideas/suggestions? Im also going to need some bar end mirrors too, again, any suggestions? Thanks in advance!!!

is there a difference between a uly airbox and a normal ss one [confused]

aslong as you are riding with an original exhaust and ecm, i would suggest riding with the original airfilter.
no use making the air/fuel ratio leaner, kills performance & in the long run, damages your engine.

turnlights (or cheaper versions)
bar-end mirrors (via search)

I have no clue why the guy put the Uly box on there, like I said, I am new to these bikes other than having drooled over them for the past 5 years. Ill talk to him about it when I pick it up and see what hes says and ill also see if he has the OEM box for it as well.

Nice looking bike, I have the same one. "Love it".Ebay for the bar end mirrors unless you want to spend alot.
