So anyone have thoughts on the new Vette officially released yesterday?
Personally I like the back half, can't stand the front half, love the rear end, and the interior is the typical 'eh' vette interior. I haven't liked a vette interior since 1982. Can't deny the performance is pretty sweet.

Not a fan of the flipped Camaro tail lights. Not sure how I feel about the front end yet, either, but I like the hood and the roof design. I'm a Corvette fan and I'm not really feeling this one.

Maybe I need to see it in person and drive it... :D

Lost its "originality" and has to many other makes in the design. I see some Nissan GTR, 370Z, Ferrari 599 and From a 3/4 rear view with the top removed it has some Pontiac Soltice Coupe to it. And WTF is up with that rearend? I haven't really thought about this as you can tell. :D

Definitely a Ferrari front end. Not that I mind a Ferrari front end, but not on a Corvette - maybe a Ferrari.

The back-end looks like a chop-job. The Camaro tails need to go.

The overall shape in the 3/4 pic is very reminiscent of the last (current?) generation of vettes, however I feel that either the roof line is too low or the rear fender is too high - I personally think it's a little of both.

So, take away the 'rari front end, Camaro back end, raise the roof/lower the fender and you have....the exact same thing as what's on the market today.

I can't get into all the sharp edges, creases ( like most cars now) and Pep Boys looking vents. Really don't think it will age as well as some of the previous generations Corvettes have. I like the new SRT Viper a lot better. [smirk]

Since this is suppose to be the new sting ray vette i think it needed to have more rounded edges but i like it other then that.

Ill take a 2013 GT500 over that any day!
Plus the Shelby has a back seat for kids and hisses when getting on it :)

I have a Chevy now (Silverado) but over the past few years I've lost that Chevy love I once had.

Not feeling this one at all! Like said above I would have a Cobra or a Viper over this thing any day! Never really have been a vette fan anyway.

Just read specs... 450 horsepower.

Really, that's all you can come up with Chevy ???

This big bad reveal for a goofy, Ferrari looking car that should say hot wheels on the bottom of it and only 450 HP.

Ill stick with the 650 HP Shelby.....

It's a refreshing design given the similarities of the C5/6.

The front profile/headlight shape/air scoop are almost identical to the new viper -there is a pic on google which compares them...way to similar for coincidence.

The lower half of the rear end as well as rear end side lines are pathetic..definitely ran out of time/money/imagination on those hard square lines given the flow and curviness of the rest of the body.

Definitely alot of italian/ferrari 430/458 influence in the design of both the exterior as well as the interior. Straying away from the "std cheap domestic" look and feel as before. I think this a step in the right direction for Chevy given the American preference for imports and exotic sports cars.

To rah7777: you can't compare a 450hp base vette to a shelby gt500: not apples to apples. This is the base model with VVT and cylinder deactivation, I'm sure Chevy has big power plans to dominate the current market as it has done with nearly every recent Vette platform.

you can compare a 450hp base vette to a shelby gt500 when they are about the same price....

the vette is a sports car, the mustang a muscle car... id take the mustang any day of the week....

Really, that's all you can come up with Chevy ???

It's the base model...

Just like currently they have the base model which has something like 400-450hp, then the zo6 which is something around 500-550hp, then the zr1 which is around 640hp.

What's fascinating is that each of these models are not the same car with a different engine, they are actually three separate cars(from the frame up) that share interiors and some body panels(and other things, of course). But when you see a base model next to a z06 next to a zr1 they are three very different cars.

I'll also say I don't really like this new refresh. It's ok(keeps the same overall styling) but makes it look kind of weird. I liked the last generation with the more bold/square look. It was probably the best overall vette made. Many people complain it wasn't "fancy" enough, but I thought that was a good thing, more like a sleeper. The more that it resembles a ferrari, lamborghini, etc, the less I'll like it.
