Connecticut for now....
Here is my new custom one off rear sprocket.

I have an X1 which i am knee deep in my XB wheel conversion. I had a few options for a rear pulley...

1. Use the XB 65 tooth rear pulley and through my gearing off, and loose a lot of my belt adjustment.

2. Weld in the 5 bolt holes in my factory X1 61 tooth pulley and drill and XB bolt pattern

3. Change my front pulley to i think a sportster 29 tooth and use the XB 65 tooth and have factory X1 gear ratio again.....

OR... go custom.....

I really loved the dark horse custom XB pulley, but the price was $450 and it was still the wrong gearing for my bike and would lead to #1 above....

So, i designed my own pulley in Solidworks and pasted it along to a friend who machined it for me.

here is my cad design- Its a 61 tooth factory X1 ratio with XB bolt pattern and XB 6 spoke wheel design!!!!

he just mailed it out to me today, so i have not seen the finished part in person... but cant wait.
Once i get it, its getting handed off to another friend for hard coating, and then back to me, to powdercoat it to machine my wheels...

Bad ass lookin piece! How much did the material set you back though? That big of a chunk of AL can't be cheap.

thanks guys-

it is made from either 6061-T6 or 2024-T351 aluminum. I forget at the moment what he was able to get. The 2024 had some better properties then the 6061.

To tell you the truth... materials and machining cost me $0.00 and the design was just my time... so the whole thing cost me $0.00 :D cant beat that.....[up]

I did get a few price quotes from local shops that quoted me $800 for one.

Hey Pur Pony, is there any chance I could get u to share your design information, I'm trying to help my gear ratio on my 05 xb12, I am a machinist and havep cnc capabilities but no tooth design data or program. I need q 611 tooth pulley also. My e-mail address is [email protected] thanks

Pistolero, what are you wanting to do with the sprocket? Up down or switching belt drive?

ideally I want to get a better ratio for top end, id love to go up a bit on the front pulley a tooth or two and go down on the rear pulley a tooth or two. I am running a 195 45 17 yokahama s drive car tire and it is about an inch shorter than the stock 180 55 17 and I want my top end back plus a little if possible. I am hammering the rev limiter in high gear so I think ive got a little room for more gear left. any data on the pulley tooth profile would be a big help.
