New guy from MA with a 05 XB9SX

Hello Buell world. A little about myself. Name's Josh, i'm 24, in the Coast Guard, and from Massachusetts. Last weekend i bought a buell via BLUE XB12 ( http://www.buellxb.com/Buells-for-Sale/Buell-Lightnings-for-Sale/2005-XB9CityX-for-sale-in-NH )and have to say, what a great guy. He was selling the bike here on the forum, for a neighbor of his who is in the Army and stationed in Texas.

This is the first bike of my own, few years back i would ride my father's Sportster 1200. I grew up riding dirt bikes and quads. I currently have a Honda 450R.
Anyways the bike is bone stock, 6500 miles. So far i've sent the exhaust and tail to Hawk [up] and should receive it early next week (so i took leave ) Lowered the wind screen (not sure if i'll keep it due to the lights shining through the translucent blue) removed mirrors, hand guards, warning stickers, lower belt guard, and passenger pegs.

Ebay smoked LED tail w/integrated blinkers (couldnt swing the ca$h for the XBLight )

Cheap Ebay bar ends

As far as gear goes, i've ordered the Shift Avenger jacket

Oakley Assault gloves through work

And the Oakley Panel Pack through work

Needless to say, i'm soon to be poor!!! haha thanks Buell. Still on the list is an XB Dashboards gauge plate, breather re-route, front pulley cover mod, $11 kick stand upgrade, cleaning the headers (probably today), K&N w/airbox mod, right side intake, axle sliders, HID's, hidden Brembo (who is selling the bracket nowadays?!?) and i'm still trying to decide if i like the blue, or if i should go black, or red? everything i own that has wheels is black/red.

you run the risk of lessening the value of your bike when you start changing colors but might be irrelevant to you. i know you clearly love red and it is a great bike color but that hero blue is just plain cool. personally i'd keep it but then again, it's your bike so feel free to do what turns you on. if you gotta go with red i'd send you the transluscent black body work from my 2007 cityX and take the blue off your hands. just a thought.

i commend ford motor co. and alan mulhally for being the only one of the "big three" not to accept fed bailout money but for me, it has been and always will be my beloved chrysler corp that i support. bought this new and still own it so my mopar support dates back 4 decades.

josh: i don't know what the color is called but it's this bike, this bodywork. a few tiny spider cracks at left lower flyscreen mounting hole but probably wouldn't matter if you're painting it. i gave the tank bags away 2 days ago on here. thanks much for the superbird compliments.

Now you know! LOL I stock everything on my site so just let me know. Most with silver frames prefer the natural finish but it's all your preference.

hey i wouldnt use the ecm maps from the ebay seller on your bike. people have had bad luck with the cd's from ebay. the cable will work fine im sure. i know mods.buellxb.com has some maps on the website. also people here are willing to email them.

You could fetch some plastics+cash for those translucent blue, def don't paint em. Also you can buy the hidden brembo bracket on American sport bike

Hey guys, spent some time with the bike tonight, cleaned it and i'm really starting to like the Hero Blue. Especially the wheels! i'm cleaning the plastics right now with Meguiar's PlastX.
