Hi all,
Proud new owner of a 00' X1...absolutely love the bike! She has a tad over 20k on the clock, but has been well taken care of over the years. The only noticeable mods are a Forcewinder intake, race ecm, and Buell racing can. I did the usual maintenance any new owner would, change the fluids, plugs, wires, air filter, etc. The only leak I've noticed is a slight seeping at the front jug near the oil filter...I don't know if its ever been opened up, but I can only assume they are the factory base gaskets. I'd like to drop the engine and replace all the top end gaskets, however I'm struggling to find Cometic or James top end gasket kits for the X1. Am I missing something as far as cross referencing or not looking at the right vendor? Anyone have any leads as to where to get this gasket set?

Thanks!

Talk to Al at American Sport Bike or Dan at NHRS

www.americansportbike.com or http://www.nrhsperformance.com/

i ordered all my gaskets from Al. While you have it all apart, check your oil pump drive gear and if its not the new bronze one, replace it!!

Also, if you have the funds, i would recommend installing XB rocker boxes as well.

You can do everything in the frame without removing the engine-

Excellent, thanks for the info!! What are the benefits of swapping to XB rocker boxes?

What are the benefits of swapping to XB rocker boxes?

The PCV system on a XB is superior over the old XL umbrella style system in the tubers. The XB boxes are less likely to leak as well.
