Hey guys!
I just signed up, and this is my first post!
Woohoo!

I am putting back together a 03 XB9R.
I've tore it down and am reassembling it.... And I found that one of the springs that rests behind the rotor on the front wheel is missing.

Only one.
And there is no finding it!

My question is how important is one spring to the function of the brake setup and as far as working correctly?
Second if it is imperative, then where could I get another one?

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to a bunch more posts!!

Thanks for the quick responses!

Hmm either 50$ or 80$.
I was looking for a cheaper alternative.
After all I lost just ONE spring!

Anybody know where I can find just one?

Or can I just leave it out?

I'm way over budget on this thing already and really can't put another 50$ into it!

you cant leave it out! but maybe some Autoparts Store will have something simlar....or ebay...
;)

there is..but just the hole kit for 55 $$$ used...
but here in the forum many have changed from original Rotor to EBR Rotor + EBR Mounting kit...
so they have this springs laying around.... ?!

PM me and I'll throw a couple in the mail to you. I know I saved some old ones, now to find them.[confused]

I also have some, I upgraded to the new kit. Let me know if you want one and I'll mail it to you.

@raz65man and @snrusnak thanks a heap!
I really appreciate it!
A spring would be a life saver!

@raz65man I don't want you to go through the trouble of having to find it, and it sounds like @snrusnak has them laying around so ill message him.
I do appreciate it though!!

Now ill tackle my last bit... My broken front fairing brace! Then I can finally have my Firebolt finished!!

hey frankie just PM'd you back. I have my entire garage covered with plastic since I'm redoing the entire ceiling, but I think I know exactly where the brake parts are, so I'll try to dig them up monday or tuesday.

Don't sweat it snrusnak, I got him covered. If anyone cares it is part number H0505.02A8.

Not meaning to thread jack but I have questions. Does the EBR hardware kit eliminate the springs? If it does, the rotor can't float, how does it allow for expansion when it gets hot?
Raz[confused]

Yes the EBR new/upgraded kit does not use springs. I just installed it on my bike and it basically hard mounts the rotor to the wheel.

the konkav washer replaces the Spring, so the disc is not completely "hard mounted" and can float and expand when heating up.... [up]
