I have been lurking around here for a while, so I might as well make an introduction. Bought my 09 xb12r in June. It's the first bike I've had since I sold my bagger (FLHTC) in the late 90s. It was also in the late 90s when Battley HD, had a Buell promotional and, purely out of curiosity, I took a test ride. before that, I had never heard of Buell, or at least payed any attention. I never forgot how much fun that bike was to ride and how surprised I was that it was soooo much more than (what I expected to be) just a redesigned Sporty. So, when I the time came that I just had to get another bike...

Anyway I am having the time of my life riding this bike. I even tried to talk Momma into another one when Buell was killed; no-go on that one[down].

I've accelerated my learning curve tremendously by reading the posts on this forum. So much so, that I started to feel guilty for not registering and contributing something...Well,I can't think of anything to contribute at the moment but hello.

Thanks, Will do. Have to take one when I get up tomorrow. Other than a breather re-route, just stock black/red...

Forums are one of the best if not the best thing that can aid in your knowledge of the bike. The more you stick around the better prepaired you will be when it comes time to modify your bike. Even if you plan to leave it alone, sooner or later you will get the bug.

Welcome and Enjoy each Curve more than the last.[up]

to the Forum and the Buell "family".

Also a welcome. Eddie looks like he approves as well of your sweet ride. The blue cable lock looks like it could cause a problem if forgotten. Got a Drummer on my 9 and love it. If you get out to northern calif look me up, and we'll do an old goat ride. Cheers.[up]

I'm looking hard at the Drummer also. The lock I use for my helmet (only when parked) It goes through the face opening so it's harder to steal. I don't really believe in disk locks, etc., just for the reason you mentioned. Besides, if they want to steal your bike, it's just going in the back of a truck, lock or no lock.

How did you strap that tankbag on there? I have a Chase Harper from another bike that uses a three point system, two on top and one on bottom. Does that work?

Apexlocator, The two connectors for the front are looped around the frame, just beyond the front motor-mount. The straps re-connect just in front of the bag by Velcro, so it's easy to install/adjust. Just make sure you don't get the straps wedged in such a way as to impair steering, etc... The back connector, I looped around the top shock-mount. be careful about that though, there is very little room between the shock and the fan. My fan was actually rubbing on the strap at first so I had to move the strap up.

It is very secure now and I use it ALL the time.

good luck
