Saturday I went to Cycle Gear in Bear De and I bought a Shoei RF1200 helmet. It was a pretty big purchase for me but I had recently come to the conclusion that my $100 half shell helmet was not enough protection. I wanted a light comfortable helmet and after a lot of research I found that the RF1200 would meet my requirements nicely. After trying a few on in store I went with the XXL but after riding in it for a short time it started to seem too big. Thanks to Cycle Gear's "no hassle 7 day helmet exchange policy" I went back yesterday and walked out with a smaller size that seems to fit just right.

Good deal man. Nice helmet too. I recently bought the new icon ghost airframe helmet. Not the best but good for me and an upgrade from my previous helmet. We have a local shop that takes care of people like that. No hassle exchange even on boots. ........ We have another that when you buy you buy and that's it. Kinda sucks when different brands sizing is all different

Yeah, I rode for about 2 hours in the helmet on Saturday evening andit just felt way looser than I did in the store so I exchanged it for an extra large which feels a lot better. I did order the optional 31mm cheek pads tho cause my face is a little on the fat side lately. Should see them tomorrow or Wednesday I would imagine. I also ended up with 2 of the pinlock visors, it was only supposed to come with one, but I haven't installed that yet.

Edit: actually I did install it late last night but I didn't ride with it yet.

I hear lots of people bad mouth Cycle gear but I have had good luck with them. Having one two miles from my house is a bonus. I just bought an AGS Rossi replica on sale and had the same problem of wrong size. They replaced with no problem. Also got my Arai Phil Reed replica from them at a good price.
