hey guys im new here I picked up a 08 1125r the other day and was loving it. Well i still love it but the right front fork is leaking BAD. I have new seals and dust seals I called and ordered a mechanics manual but I dont want to wait. I have already removed the forks but I am looking of a breakdown of how to replace the seals for these forks. I have been looking all over and I have read something about having to have the adjustments in or out before disassembling? Any help or pictuers pdf would be much appreciated.

thanks though I didnt see a mesurment for the new oil other than with the suction tool (i dont have that) I have a ratio right messuring cup anyone know the amount needed?

Yeah when i have done this in the past I had those tools in the shop handy. Not sure how to do it without. Maybe someone else can lend a word to help.[cool]

Well i'm impatient to wait for a tool lol made my own suction tool syringe tube and a chunk of brake line lol all I needed to buy was the tube whole .60 and I got some pvc laying around I guess I'll see if I got the right size

fwiw, the forks are basically the same as Ducati's. There's more of those shops and there's many good shops that can do those forks. It doesn't have to be HD and it can be done cheaper than the main tool that you're likely to only use once.

Well I have done forks before but it was on a 91 cbr 600 f1 hurricane and they were very simple. I like to do allot of my own work with manuals but I just got the bike and its so nice out I didn't want to wait for the book to come. Next problem what should the settings be at front and rear for a 180 lbs rider and also for a 180 lbs rider with a 135 lbs passenger

The local motorcycle shop near me charged $150 plus tax and fluid(I supplied the parts). I brought the forks to him. I'm pretty handy and I'm sure I could have bought the tools and followed a manual, but I didn't have the time, and I thought the price was fair.

Just like someone said above, they are basically the same as ducati forks. At least that's what the guy told me. He wasn't sure at first if he had the tools to do them, but once he saw them he said they are just like ducati forks(they are showa's IIRC).
