Hey Guys,

My name is Mike and I recently purchased this new to me 2008 XB12XT. I have been enjoying the hell out of this bike!!:love_heart: Out of all the bikes I have owned in the past this is defiantly the most fun, most comfortable bike I have ever owned! In the past I always wrote off Buell because of the affiliation with H-D, a short trip on a friends SCG changed my mind, and my search for a Uly began. The ergos on this bike fit me perfectly and the wifey even likes riding on the back better than previous bikes.

I have been lurking on this forum and the other forum for quite some time trying to learn as much as I can about these bikes. A big thank you to all of you on this site and BadWeb for the wealth of knowledge shared. You guys are a great example of what the motorcycle community should look like! I am proud to be a new member of the "Blue Key Fraternity"!

Make that 3 future Bullers! The little guy is the one who gets most excited when he sees any type of motorcycle!

We live in a rural area outside of the little town of Oostburg WI, located about half way between Milwaukee and Green Bay right along Lake Michigan. Dairy farms and cash crop farms all around us.

Welcome to the forum and thanks for posting pics in your intro. We love pics around here and always enjoys seeing the kids starting young with their two wheeled addiction. Also if I might add... Go Pack Go.

Welcome aboard!
Very nice looking ULY. I'll assume with the young trio that your bike will be used more for commuting than weekend adventure traveling. Needless to say, you'll want to make sure you keep her well maintained and she will reward you.
Not sure what the situation is with Buell friendly shops in your area. You're pretty close to the Buell motherland so things might be different for you. Regardless, it's not a bad idea to have a service manual handy. Go to www.buellmods.com and download a service manual.
BTW a long time ago my brother lived in the near Kenosha. I think it was lake Geneva??? I remember seeing lots of wide open spaces and rolling hills. Is your area similar?
Take care and once again, welcome aboard.

My wife has family in viola and viroqua Wi........ We ate from Ga but live in Az temporarily for work..... No greenery in the Tucson desert.......

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Yes, the kiddo's defiantly make it a challenge to get out for a weekend getaway, but, Grandpa and Grandma live close so me and the wife are able to get some Sunday rides in. The main task for the Uly however is commuting. It's funny how the ride to work on the uly has been leading me down old country roads I have never explored before! Work is about 30 miles away if I take the interstate but if I'm on the bike the commute is much more of a journey.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem that being close to the "motherland" yields any better results with the H-D dealers, although, I have heard Appleton H-D is Buell friendly. The PO included the service manual, wiring manual, and parts manual. My wife thought I was strange when I sat down on the couch next to her one night and began reading the service manual. HA!

Being close to the "motherland" I do plan on going to East Troy next year for the Buell reunion, I believe it's usually held in June? I was a little late to the ballgame to make it this year. Have any of you ever gone? I think they give factory tours which would be pretty cool to see.

Lake Geneva is beautiful area, I just got back from a camping trip with the family near there. Viola and Viroqua are also very nice places. The wife and I traveled through that area two years ago on a bike trip to the Mississippi River (before #3 was born).

And.... Go-Pack-Go!!!

Hey Mike! I'm Robert. I too am a new Uly owner, after a long search for the right one. I'm in Racine. I have the same issue with taking the long way to work. Love this bike. Hit me up when you're going to East Troy. I'll meet you out there if my schedule allows. I'm going to Indianapolis on Sept. 17th to meet some other Buellers and Erik at https://www.facebook.com/events/737349253071894/.
