Hello, new buell owner here, two months that is (sitting at dmv for real plates currently). Loving the bike so far, got a great deal. Previously spent the last few years on a Suzuki katana 750,which was a great starter bike, I put nearly 20k mi on that bike but always loved all the innovation in the buells, looked for the "perfect xb" for about a year before jumping.
Got a '09 12r blk on blk w/ cherry bomb wheels/ shield, with 5600 mi for 4800$, in flawless shape. Found the po has done a few things to it, breather re-route, exhaust servo delete (or whatever the popular term for this is) HID's and complete signal removal , not just unplugging but cutting so far up the harness it was crazy. So far I have done a few lil things such as adding turn signals, and both lights on hi beams, for comfort I have added a zero gravity double bubble ( plasti-dipped inside to save the gauges), and adjustable pegs. (I am 6'4" and ride freeway nearly everyday on my commute) I plan on doing a few others as I have caught the mod bug years ago with turbo cars and am never satisfied... I plan on keeping this as reliable as possible so will prob stick to the tried and true bits on this, k&n, and really eyeballing the Keda exhausts, as well as other lil things as the 5-0 sliders... And racking up miles, as I have almost put 2000 on already.
I am in Thornton (Denver) colorado and would love to ride with other buellers given the chance. Thanks for letting me lurk for so long, and glad to be an active part of the community!
