Hi guys, I have always wanted a Buell since I saw one three years ago on a bike night. Sure its got tons of torque but my last two bikes were GXSR 1000 and Yamaha R1, so now im a proud owner of a 03,06,07 Buell XB (its like a hybrid of some sort has 3 Buells combined) You see I said Buell XB ? Well the front is from 2003 XB9S, the Rear is from 2006 XB12r, and the engine is from a 2007 Buell XB12r so its 1203cc. It has a lighting long with firebolt subframe and tail swap, Cams redone 2k miles, forged pistons, EBR Racing ECU, KandN Air Filter, Full Dual D&D Exhaust with headers, EBR Racing Airbox, EBR Race front and rear breaks. So far I have installed new mirrors, did a TPS reset, new plugs and wires, new LED turn signals all the way around, new foot pegs, new grips, two 8k blue light bulbs(I hated the yellow ones that were in there) Zero Gravity Wind screen, (new $200 rear drive belt, the old one snapped after a week of riding) The bike will be painted Rallye Red color in the next couple days. So far that's it if im forgetting something?

I have bought two Jardine quiet modules for my D&D Exhaust since its super loud and I keep getting pulled over all the time. No tickets yet as soon as the police see its a Harley engine they let me go. But I need a new exhaust or get some how these two Jardine quiet modules worked by a machinist so they could fit into the exhaust as they are 2" and the exhaust is 2" wont fit inside. Unless someone wants my pretty rare and expensive exhaust I might just return the silencers and buy something else as I am not used to driving with that kind of noise, it sounds louder then most Harleys I see at the bike night.

People sure do love the bike, as most never seen anything like it before and I wanted a unique bike with my 1190 rs that I bought right before Erik went bankrupt. What a bummer. Should of kept the R1 and this XB, I can tell you guys right now its the most fun nest bike I ever rode. Once I get it painted ill have a better idea on what to do next.

I have two questions, if someone can help me out ?
#1... This EBR ECU I got, I did not get any software when I bought the bike so basically im stuck with it, and cant load any maps on it, I bought a ReadyXB cable but was told only thing I can do with ECMSpy and TunerPro is reset the TPS since the ECU is made by EBR and they supply the software....anywhere I can download the EBR software ?

#2... Im going to do an oil change on the bike soon, I got a bosch oil filter and half synth oil, in your experience how many quarts does a xb12r take ? I can see it goes into the rear swing, little bit weird because its 3 bikes together, I don't have a manual....is there a hole somewhere I can look to see how much I poured in there already ?

Thank you!

Im keeping this bike forever, as its my favorite out of the 10 that I have owned in my life. Ill probably sell the 1190 rs in couple of years, it just sucks he closed hes doors.

Thanks, glad to be here. I know ill have a ton of questions later on once I get the body done right. Still need a ton of original plastics that are missing.

#1 From my conversations with Mike Cobb...Buell/EBR Lied, you can burn maps and make adjustments to any ecm. Race ecm or oem, it doesn't matter. You just need the cable and program of your choosing. I use both ECMSPY and TunerPro.

telefanaticx, if you do confirm that there is TP/ECMSpy tuning support for your EBR ECM, would you post back here?

My statement that I was not aware of support is because neither the Tunerpro nor ECMSpy website claim to support the EBR DDFI-2 ECM. They DO advertise support for the Factory Race DDFI-2 ECM, and of course EBR DDFI-3 ECMs. But their support pages do not list EBR DDFI-2 support. Notice that EBR is only listed as being supported for 2008 and later models. The issue is not in being able to communicate with the ECM but rather having the proper calibration layout.

I also provided an email for you to contact... not sure if you have reached out there yet. In any case, I'm glad you posted so we can get multiple eyes looking at your request! Since it is your ECM and not mine, I would rather err on the side of caution. And that is a nice bike.

The problem I have is that the engine is from a 2007 XB12R, and so is the rear....just the front is 2003 XB9S. My rev limiter goes over 9k and doesn't hesitate.

Took the bike apart yesterday, had my ecm spy cable and it said "RACE ECU" did not touch it. Im a little scarred to load a new map in there. Lots of people say EBR Racing ECU's don't work with tunerpro and ecmspy cables and programs.

Nice bike! To be honest when I saw super moded I thought for sure someone bought a Buell with an exhaust and a breather reroute!

Haha yeah that would be super modded with a exhaust and breather reroute. Ill post some new pics tomorrow since im paiting the bike after work, modern steel metallic. I hope it will good, im sure It will. If not ill just repaint it next week to something else. That's the good thing when you got a shop and know how to paint and do body work.

ReadyXB I will test out the software tonight, see what happens when I try to load a map onto EBR Race ECU.
There is a safer step you can take before attempting to load a map. Just connect to it with ECMSpy for Mono or TP and see what ECM type is reported (ex: B2RIB, BUEGB). If the type is listed among the "Supported ECM Types" page linked above, then you may be ok.

when you do the oil , use Redline 20w-60HD. I run it in both of mine.. best oil I have found so far and Ive tried a lot of them. S&S makes a 20w-60 for this type of motor also but I have not tried it yet. Here is a link to the Redline.. check it out.http://www.redlineoil.com/product.aspx?pid=111
