Ok so my bike is almost back on the road and I moved houses last week. I haven't brought my bike to my new house yet. My old place in Philly had a courtyard I parked in, my new house has a back yard, but 3 fairly steep steps is the only way to get to the back yard. I ride my bike to work every day it's not raining or freezing out. I figured I'd see what crafty ways you guys can come up with for getting my bike in and out of my back yard each morning. I don't really want to park on the street or sidewalk because everyone ***** with your bike. Especially when they see the Buell, it just attracts people to touch it. I want to do it like this. :p

Here's a pic of my front steps....

Come on now just pick it up and carry it down the steps lol. Get a dock plate drill a couple of hole through the part you want to put at the top of the steps. Then drill into tge concrete and use some self encoding concrete bolts.

I'd use a 3/4" or 1" piece of plywood as a ramp and ride up at 15mph or so. Ramping off those steps on the way out ea day would be exciting...like the old bmx days...

why not just buy one of them 100.00 ramps that is used for loading a motorcycle or lawnmower into a truck bed? They are made out of aluminum so they should be easy to cart around. Seems like an easy dilema to me. Good luck.

I second a perfect chance to Evel Knievel the bike every time he leaves and gets home!

Since it is so steep I would think drilling a couple holes in the top step and doing a longer ramp would be the only choice.

^^^that.

Yeah, one of those double-wide curved ramps would work great, (just get up a bit of speed on the "up-step")..
then chain it to the railing when you're done..

2x12 w/stik-um sandpaper blk in color comes in rolls
cut the ends at a 45 w/chop saw and your done. you could even do a piano hinge to fold in half..30 00 dollars.also 2x4 on the side 2 inch drywall screws make sure you pre drill.[cool]UNION CARPENTER (CHICAGO)GOTTA LOVE IT...

Single aluminum truck ramp would be fine, pull it out from the house when leaving, drive bike down, put it back in the house, reverse when you get home. That or ask it you can build a wooden ramp that can be removed when you leave.

just wheelie up the steps you'll be alright :D

on a real note best bet is probley a wooden ramp

HAHA love the responses, yea i'm just getting a $20 ramp end from pep boys and putting it on a 2x12 board and cutting it to length, I just wanted to see what you guys do, thanks for all the input.

Wood will be slick as piss when wet. I wouldn't chance it with anything but a good traction aluminum ramp meant for loading.
