Well, the Z1000 was a blast, but I just wasn't riding it. With such a short commute everyday and a wife that likes to carpool, it was easier to fire up the car in the morning than hop on the bike. Took a bath on it when I sold it, but it was good to at least grab what value I could out of the bike before further depreciation. Oh well!

I'm going a different route with this one, and embracing the fact that I rarely ride. This time, I decided to pick up a bike that would increase in value the less that I rode it, and also increase in value over time.

Here's a quick teaser pic. I'll take some more shots tomorrow when it's sunny out and I've had a chance to wipe 'er down a bit. She's beautiful, fully sorted, a blast to ride. Even the pig agrees

Nice! I need to come over for another ride before I head up to the great white north...

Super cool, Im a Norton guy as well (also Triumph and BSA) and my wife and I have several Nortons. Her oldest one is a 1947 ES2 (500cc single) I have a Manx Replica (still in project form) several Norton Hybrids (N15 and G15) as well as multiple C-dos. I also live nearby and know Kenny Dreer well who resurrected the Brand here in Oregon before his investor sold it out from under him I have some Norton prototypes (modern ones). Im of course in the Local Norton Club, (O.N.E.aka Oregon Norton Enthusiasts) as well as we are hosting the international Norton Owners rally next year here in Oregon. (INOA).
If you ever need any advice or information on Nortons, feel free to ping me. Ill be at the OVM (Oregon Vintage MC) show and swap meet tomorrow promoting our local NW Vintage MC museum and the local Norton club.
Our news spokes model is "Miss Maggie Neato" she doesn't talk much but looks great in her cafe racer gear
(Shes a mannequin I got at a garage sale) we put her in the booth for when im out shopping in the swap meet.
I used to run a vintage bike shop and have rebuilt many many Norton's. they have their issues just like these buells but once corrected are an amazing machine.

Ton up laddie, Don the winklepickers, kiss the bird, wipe the balled up Ally, and see you at the Ace!

Didn't get a chance to give her a wash, so she's still a bit grimy. I did get a chance to take her out for a nice spin today, and man is it a sweet ride! As promised, some photos:

Yeah, dude. It's a killer bike. I'm looking forward to taking it out for another spin this evening once it cools down and the traffic dies down a bit. Still wrapping my head around the GP pattern right-hand shift, though. It's going to take some getting used to.

Ummm God intended for us to Shift on the right, all early Sportsters had them, and all British bikes up until the late 1970s came that way, It was that dammned gumminent forcing us into nanny state protections that mandated bikes shift on the left, Im more used to that and have to readjust to these modern bikes.

We had the Oregon vintage MC club show and swap meet yesterday, your bike would have been right at home out on the show field. Next year the Oregon Norton Enthusiasts (O.N.E) are hosting the international Norton rally here in Oregon (See the INOA website or the ONE website)
