Just picked up my 2007 xb12r today with 8500miles. I will apologize up front if this is not posted in the correct place, currently using a terrible mobile browser. Anyways, former rider of a fighter cb600, best buddy has a xb12r as well. He went down last season and just fixed the machine, which I had not seen until a recent group ride. I fell in love the second I heard 1200cc's fire up. "THAT sounds like THAT?!?." Oh man I searched Craigslist for weeks looking for the right one. Finally I found this gem about an hour from Niagara Falls conveniently the following day after selling the rice rocket. Absolutely what I was looking for in a motorcycle, the roar of a Harley yet still fits in any crowd of riders. I was actually debating between the lightning and firebolt, mainly bc of the short tail on the lightning and simple yet sexy front end. Although this firebolt had the short tail. Obviously the original owner made it his own, can anyone confirm if this is a tail swap? I have not seen this anywhere online with a factory build. The owner I purchased from was a farmer out in Amish country that said he didn't have the time to ride with 4 kids and that he purchased in this condition. Picked this machine up fairly cheap, only contributed about 700 cash after the cake of my honda. Looking forward to responses and guidance. My name is Tony.

Welcome!

Sure looks like a swap to me.

Until that crowd of riders starts moving faster than 100mph, then you're the only one hearing that roar anymore. :D

Thank you. I like it, and I figured the tail was swapped. I might revisit the accents with a spray gun in the off season, it could use touch up and I agree there is a lot of red.

can anyone guesstimate what brand the pipe is? I can't find any markings

Welcome to the board and congrats on the bike. I would say from the look it is probably a Hawk exhaust but could also be a stock modified by Drummer.

Nice bike! Former New Yorker here - Poughkeepsie, New Paltz. This is great forum. Best of luck with your new ride!

From what I can see in your pic on my phone screen, I'd guess Hawk. A Drummer would normally have a polished end cap & tip...
