Hello, new to the Buell forum. I recently picked up a slightly beat up and neglected 2006 XB12S for cheap money. Son of a co worked, garage kept apparently only used to occasionally crash on. It's a low mileage, battery dead so not sure actual mileage but still on original 06 tires with plenty of tread left. Broken levers, turn signal lights, right foot peg, shift linkage, dent on left frame at junction area. Otherwise looks reasonably OK. Ordered manuals and shift linkage from my local HD. What are the inherent problems/opportunities with this model and best places for parts? Thanks for your replies.

www.buellmods.com and you could have saved yourself some bucks on manuals.
Lesson learned... .... do as much research as possible before buying anything else. Buell's aren't complicated but if you don't know what you're doing, you can complicate things real quick!
I hope you got the bike for less than 1k. Dented frame/fuel tank puts a Buell in the salvage bike category.

Pics of damage attached. Looking for opinions on the damage. i'm only into it @$400 really don't want to part it out rater keep it on the road. Is the ign key the same one for the gas cap?20170725_173935.jpg20170725_173922.jpg20170725_173927.jpg20170725_173935.jpg20170725_173911.jpg

Nice find, wish I could have picked up mine that cheap.

You really lucked out on the exhaust, one of the best made and hardest to find.

Frame damage looks to be relatively minor in the pictures. Little bondo, some paint, a pair of frame pucks and your good to go.

Because of the age, first thing I'd replace are the tires and belt.

You'll be able to find most/all of the rest of the parts on here or the buellxb facebook page.

Already planned on the tires just waiting until the forum gives it a passing mark and I can get the engine running verifying it's good before investing in new tires. Speaking of tires what's a good recommendation for good wearing tires, I'm willing to give up max cornering grip for longer wear.
