Hello. Just wanted to say hi, cuz I have been searching and reading like crazy to understand and modify my new-to-me bike. The bike is an "06 XB9SX w/just under 11k miles. I bought it for hubby to commute on, but I like to ride it as well. I am new to street bikes but have been a dirt bike singletrack rider for 17+ years.

I love to work on stuff and modify as much as possible, of course within our budget. So far I have deleted the rabbit ears, installed bar-ends, re-routed the breather hoses, modified the air box, and done a TPS reset. The bike came w/a K&N and a Jardine exhaust. I helped hubby change out the headers for coated ones and get new tires mounted. We also are getting some new bars but not till next week.

I am also using a mac with the ecmspy via a virtual windows set up if anyone cares. Here are some pics of the bike when we brought it home, the airbox and my idea for how to lift the bike to remove the wheels. Funny but it worked.

I am sure I will do many more searches and and ask many questions before it is all said and done. Hopefully, I will have my own someday!

to the Forum! You've found one of the best sites out there for Buells. Great bunch on here. Be forewarned though, you'll probably be hunting you one if you ride his too much. :D[up]

Welcome! I really like that color combo. The XB style Lightning will always be my favorite. ;)[up]

It looks like you need to work on those chicken strips through. Carve some corners when you feel you're ready. Ride safe.
