I've been sort of lurking and also posting here and there on this forum for the last few weeks.

My name's Dan and I'm in the Army. Stationed at Ft. Lewis but I live out in N. Tacoma. Just wanted to post pics of my new ride. I'm still deployed, but my friend just made the purchase for me today and is keeping it safe hands till I get back.

As you can see it's an '07 Scg. After searching the site I'm looking at getting some 5-0dro frame sliders, but any thoughts on a quality fender eliminator kit?

Hope all is well and I'm glad to be apart of the community.

Nice--another Seattle area Bueller. Wen do you get back to JBLM?

And cool Buell!! [up]

Regarding the fender kit, search here on the cheese grater chop--it will give you some ideas. You can find a bolt-in replacement, but they can be pricey.

@Rhino

I'll be back in September, so I should still get a good few weeks of riding in before it get's too nasty. The bike is actually in Seattle right now, up near Ballard.

And Cheese grater shop...lol. Duly noted. Thanks!

Here are a couple pics of mine (gotta show it off...lol):

I'm using the Trojan Horse (Uk) RRC kit. Would have gone with a tail chop, but I found the kit at a good deal on this site.

That's a pretty sweet ride. How did you paint the rims? I like the black accents on it

Do you know a lot of other Buellers in the Seattle area?

PNWXB, where are your frame pucks? previous owner must have taken them off, highly recommend replacing them. just my opinion. Welcome to the forum[up]

edit: my bad, they didn't start putting them on until '08, i think.

I ride a 12R Im in Wenatchee. If you ever want a taste of warm weather, sunshine, and dry roads take a 2hour trip over. Ill give ya the scenic tour.

@ Thaloc- I wouldn't mind riding out to Wenatchee sometime, lol. I'm always out at Yak and it reminds of AZ's high desert. So I bet it's nice to ride out there.

@ oh9bolt- I used to be an LT, I'm a Captain now. Are you in the Army?

Are any of you all on PNW Riders? I've been lurking on that site a bit too... Has some good information but not too many Buellers on it. How's the community?

dan: damn nice looking machine and congratulations on coming over to the dark side. we salute you. make sure all fluids and fasteners are up to specs, ride it a bit and see how you like it before commencing with the inevitable mods. and THANK YOU sir for your service to our wonderful country.

Nope. I was making a Forrest Gump reference lol. I had a few too many drinks last night.

LT DAN!

Welcome to the forum! Nice ride!

Thanks for considering 5-0dro & thanks for your service! We've been known to give a military discount. ;) PM or email us for details.

5-0dro

@oh9bolt- i should have known... i'm still known as LT Dan to my old platoon, lol. "Lt Dan! Lt Dan! I got ice cream.."

I appreciate the thanks for my service. I love my job so it makes it easy, lol.

@5-0dro- Thanks for the discount.. The quality looks exceptional so I'm saving my pennies to start buying some parts.

I looked at american super bike and saw the clip on style handle bars.. Do you have to do any fabrication or modification to the existing bike to get the handle bars fitted? Or are they just bolt on?

Welcome to the forum, great place, good people and tons of info, I'm up north of you all in Bellingham if you guys ever get a chance to come up this way let me know, we got some twisties up here to ring the Buell out on. Oh yeah PNWriders is a good place to get to know people and join in on some rides, my screen name over there is (itsme)

Well, there would be a couple mods necessary, but nothing crazy if that's what you really wanted to do. I would do as suggested above, though, and ride it for a bit as-is. You may find that you appreciate the additional leverage and comfort that the more upright bars provide.

I come off some very sporting bikes, but find I really like the Renthal-style fatbars on my Buell... Great leverage for hammering through corners or yanking the front up in a horn-mono (wheelie... LOL).

Plus, the upright bars look so civilized when you're just cruising to town or on a date... [cool]

I'm not sure it's possible to be civilized on a Buell, :D. I'll try the bike out for while and see how it goes. But I really like the look of the clip on bars. Very cafe, lol.

Im on pnwriders. I like it, its very entertaining. You find good people to ride with, and a few bad ones. It gets slightly crazy in the winter when folks have been off two wheels for a while.
