I sold this bike 2 1/2 years ago when I went away for basic training. Now it has come back to me, while i am stationed in Germany. So happy to have my bike back! This is the pic. he sent me in it's current state!

I plan on putting a new tail on it and looking to do the XB headlight conversion. So if anyone has and parts. PM me!! Oh and BTW they still sell Buell over here in Germany. Weird

What i did instead of using the XB headlight assembly. Was buying the dominator twin headlight, XB carbon fairing (customising 2 small brackets to fit the original mount) and the lowered instrument panel from twinmotorcycles.nl

I then lowered the headlight brackets all the way down. And moved the ignition switch. I also changed to super bike handlebars. Giving the x1 a hardcore streetfighter stance. I also like the look with clip ons. But personally think they are way to hard on my wrists.

Mine came out very nice. And probably cheaper than a xb conversion.

my opinion:
The xb is a much smaller motorbike than the X1. So using the original xb fairing/lights and positioning can look weird on some of the x1's i've seen. But then again, some people pull this off, I absolutely love the front and rear on purponys custom x1.

But you know, everyones taste is different.

Hey thanks for the info. i'll check that all out. Clip ons would make you lean hard forward right? I'm gonna go check out your links!

1 more question. Was it hard to fit those lights on. or did you use the factory headlight brackets to bolt on the dominators?

Yes the clip ons would make you lean harder forward than superbike handlebars.

I can try to get some photos next week when i get home, if you want to have a look at my project.

There is clearance issues with the dominator headlights. Cant remember what i did to the factory brackets to make the lights fit. I only recall that i did not destroy the original brackets. The issue was solved with 5 mins of tinkering. The only thing that i wasnt pleased with, was that a small part of the brackets is seen on the sides of the fairing when you look at it from the front. But i just did the build myself and havent really had the time to finnish it all up. If you dont mind customizing the stock brackets, this wont be an issue.

heres links of a couple of parts.

Fairings can be bought everywhere. same with apropriate handlebars.

I also removed the mirrors and substituded them with these.

Heres some german dude with one insane x1. Weird enough, I still have problems with his front lights and fairing.

Thats a pretty cool "if you love it set it free " story. What exactly do you have in mind for the tail? Just curious. If i were you i would just paint the tail blue and ride , just simple. I know how great nwrider and pur pony's bikes look but that seems like a ton of work. Nice bike either way , I cant wait to see what you come up with i love theese tubers!
