Hello there just purchased a 03 Buell firebolt, never ever have ridden a bike before , first bike, just wanted to say hello, from az.

Welcome! You'll be happy to know that you got the right bike the first time around. Post some pics!

Be careful and ride safe. [cool][up]

Welcome man, there are a few riders down there who'd probably love to show you the ropes.

+1 Ride Safe. Out of curiosity, you take an MSF course? Either way, welcome to an addiction and an awesome forum. Great community guys here who are always willing to help out.

Hey thanks for replying!, I have some classes set up through arrowhead harley here locally to get some pointers.

Welcome, Congrats, and you will love the Forum, Several Az riders here including myself.

Glen,
Buelpartsguy (BPG) works the counter over at Arrowhead, met him for the first time on Saturday. He's Good People and an asset to the forum. Swing by and Shake his hand.

Ha ha thats funny i was just in arrowhead harley on sat as well, Small world. will try to post some pics soon. thanks for the welcome!

Welcome to the family. I'm sure your bike won't stay stock for long. Mod's are like crack or heroin once you start it's hard to stop.:D

welcome and definitely take the motorcycle safety course! Its a good class to take to learn things and you get a discount on insurance

I bought couple months ago my first bike too - 03 XB9S Lightning, never ridden before :) There were two really warm days here in Chicago not too long ago and my friend came over and showed me what's what and stuff and after two hours of training on empty lot I was riding along with him. No knee draggin' just slow cruising but still. The bike feels so stable and handle like a dream. You will love it!

And welcome!

Thanks guys! Iam defenitly taking the msf course, I have been riding it non stop since yesterday and handles amazing, i like it alot better than my brothers r6.

are you sure that your bike is bone stock??? that looks like a RACE muffler on there, a duplicate to my bike, blue 03 9r. Welcome to the group

Pretty sure its stock, you no i asked the same question to the previous owner about the exhaust being after market but he swore it was stock, so im not sure, iam new to motorcycles.

Hey Glen, That looks like a Buell race exhaust on your bike. Does it have duel outlets? If so it's a race exhaust. The previous owner probably told you it wasn't aftermarket because it is a oem Buell part. It just doesn't usually come with the bike when it's purchased new from the dealer, but there are some people who have bought their bike from the dealer with the race exhaust. You might want to take off your air-box cover to see if you have a high flow filter. Also check to see if your ecm says for race use only.

Glen...I would also say that you have the race exhaust.

As Shiloh says, if its from the factory then you also would have the race ECM and K&N air filter. Here is a pic of my 03 bolt with the factory race kit. If you have the race kit, good thing, you are not bone stock.
