New X1 owner

This is my 2nd Buell, I decided to buy a 00 X1 to customize. I have a few basic questions since this is my first X1. I am hoping some of the cool Buell owners out there have some ideas. First, I want to lower the bike about 3", how is that done?

Second, I want to trade out the X1 headlight with the XB headlights or a "facemask" mod I have seen performed. I saw a few threads but no "how to's", any suggestions?
