I am new to both Buell and this site so I decided to ask a few stupid questions to the experts. I just bought an 09 XB12R and sometimes it feels like it is loading up like a 2 stroke after slow stop and go riding through town. When I engage the clutch at a lower rpm it falls on its face until I bring the rpms up. Also need to get rid of the stock exhaust can as it is too quiet. Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks. Crewdog

it should run a little better down low after break in. remember i said a little..lol. you got to get used to it but believe me you will grow to love it.

also check on the breather re-route, helps in the lower rpm's

Yep it's no where a jap I4 smooth but it's addicting :)

As for exhaust well there is many choices, I just got a Drummer from KDFab I can't tell you if I like it or not as it's not installed yet but everybody with one keep saying they love it. There is also the special ops which like the drummer is a stock pipe that as been modified. There is the voodoo pipe too which is another guy that is doing it from his home I think. In the bigger companie there is the Jardine=loud, the D&D=very loud and many other European brand or more available on there side of the pound.

You can check the American Sprot Bike web page for there exhaust shootout.

I4 smooth? The I4s are what are like two strokes.

Crewdog, your bike shouldn't be loading up. It should pull hard right off idle. Something is wrong.

Thanks for the input folks, I really appreciate it. I will break her in then do a few mods and see what happens. Hopefully there is nothing wrong but will do a few checks to see. Only had the bike for a week and still getting used to it. So far I love it. It pulls like a tractor! Again, Thanks. Crewdog

My Firebolt did the same thing until it was broke in. Now it runs perfectly fine and I haven't changed a thing.(except the oil of course)

Welcome to the Forum Crewdog. I'll save you a search: Breather Hose Re-route w/ Pics

Keep the RPM's up, that's where the "meat" is anyway. A new opened-up pipe will also do wonders. - Huge Exhaust Thread
