Going to hop on the Ulysses train in the near future, can't wait! It'll be nice to get back on a fun versitile machine after riding an Electraglide for the last several years.

I have a couple of questions from you Ully experts

I am currently looking at an 07 with all the goodies (Buell side bags, Trunk, Heated Grips etc) and 10k miles. I can pick up for around $6K, hoping for a bit lower as I'll have to ship. Does that seem like a decent deal? Listings for these are all over the place for asking price.

Anything I should be concerned about or make sure of?

bandit: take the plunge and you'll never be sorry. i have an 07 and is one of the most reliable, torquey, fun bikes i've ever owned. IMO seller's price a bit high for a 6 year old Uly with 10K miles on it plus you must pay shipping. i see several around in that year and mileage range for $5000. a Uly is an X model and with factory bags it is an XT model. they hold their value quite well as they're very desirable but i'd continue to shop around. try craigslist searchtempest. it loads slowly but lots of Ulys on there. Look for fresh battery and tires, nice cosmetics, no marks or signs of wear on rotors or drive belt, no oil leaks, check engine light (CEL) is not activated, service records if seller has them. and make absolutely certain title is free of all liens and is not salvage/stolen branded. if so, find out more about its history.

Bought 2006 uly last year for $5000 with 13k on it put on 7000 miles last summer no problems at all just spend shipping money on one way bus or plane ticket and ride it home rode from Illinois to the dragon last summer 2000+ miles over 4 days bike is very comfortable

you're quite welcome bandit and keep in mind that there are some incredibly helpful folks on this site. if you find a Uly you want to commit to but have to ship it, re-post your find and see if a board member lives near the seller and can check bike out for you. hope you find what you want.

How did your search go? I'm ready to take the plunge too. The closest I've found is about six hundred miles away thinking of hopping on a bus and riding it back.
