Hi guys new to the forum and do not currently own a Buell (yet)!
I have a couple of questions if thats ok
firstly will a Buell Firebolt XB12 suit someone who is 6ft tall, I currently ride and am comfortable on a CBR600RR as reference and easly cover 10000 miles of twisties a year on it!
I am currently looking at a used 2005 bike with 4000 miles on it but it comes with a race can but with the original CDI and air filter. could this pose any problems
I.e damage the engine in any way!

Thanks
Bobby

I am 6'-2" tall and I am comfortable on a Firebolt (I have a '04 12R and an '07 9R I am rebuilding). If you get it, I would recommend the 1" drop foot pegs from a lightning to allow a bit more stretch of your legs. I would also recommend the Buell custom seat, as it is a bit thicker, but they are almost impossible to find since Buell was axed. There are a couple other alternative seats that are still available.

I have never been comfortable on a XB Lightning. The bike feels tiny under me, making me feel like a giant. I don't get that feeling from a Firebolt.

Just the race can wont harm anything. The stock ECM can adjust muffler either air filter, but not both..

6-ft, 195 lbs, love the ergos on my XB-R.
Using lower, S, pegs.
Tried the custom, comfy, seat.
However, it's cover is slippery compared to stock, and it raises seat height relative to handlebars: more weight on wrists in stop 'n go. Keeping custom seat, but went back to stock.

If you have Buell's race muffler, one can load Buell's race map into the base ECM. It's should be correct for that pipe, regardless of air filter.

I ride a XB9SX and am 6'2" @ 200# and have no problems, altho the seating is a bit more upright..

there is a thread on here aboot heights of Buellers and Ii think ramjr55 rides a bolt and he is 6'5" 250+

6'7 260+ I love my 2005 Buell with Race exhaust and had 19K on it.

Thanks guys, seeing the pictures really helped make my mind up, I will definitely be getting a firebolt!

Thanks
Bobby

One of the reasons I like the firebolt so much is because it is known for being one of the best handling bikes in the world and capable of carrying massive corner speeds, I wouldn't like to compromise the bikes ground clearance by lowering the pegs, but then I dont really have a proper opinion on it as I've never even riden one yet!
