Hey guys.. Im a Buell newbee...just here for my inaugural post. I go on a 12 hour drive to pick up my 04 XB12S tomorrow...excited doesnt justify how I feel Ive wanted one since my demo ride in 04 at a Superbike race at Road America.
My previous bikes were...

Now that I have all that useless info out of the way..I will try to keep my future posts somewhat subjective and hopefully helpful. Ive learned a lot from enthusiast forums and I know theyre one of the best resources on the net.

Thanks a lot guys. I cant wait to get it and start modding If anyone is around northwestern IL we should meet up for a ride sometime. I have a great ride route with plenty of twisties.

On another note..Im pretty nervous about this bike...ad says its in excellent condition. Its an 04 XB12S with 3k miles. Only mod is aftermarket exhaust. It seems pretty damn cheap to me...but Ill let you know what I paid for it AFTER I pick it up .....to avoid any embarassment.

Just picked it up. SMALL scratch on the bottom of the swingarm is the only flaw I see at all. 3065 miles..04 XB12S ...only mod is D+D exhaust. $CHEAP$

Got a chance to ride it today...WOW!!! Im in love with it. (needs a steering dampner though) Figured out it has a race ECM..D&D exhaust and Im pretty sure a different filter. (havent seen stock?)
Still cant believe the deal I got on this thing but Ill keep it to myself because Im sure it would piss some people off trying to sell thier bikes.
Im happy....whats the first mod besides tearing off reflectors?

Breather hose re-route, if it's not been done yet. Then maybe the "Both headlights on" mod.

I think Ill do the pulley/sprocket? sanding mod as well...then the 5-6 year old stock tires have to be replaced

Oh yeah, have you thought about frame pucks? I like the look of them but more importantly they'll help protect the frame (gas tank) should the unexpected happen. [up]
