Newbie Alert, Today I bought 2009 Ulysses !

Not bad at all. Just means it was made to be sold in California and has to meet California emission standards. I know some have removed theirs, mostly for asthetic reasons as I don't think it affects performace in the slightest.

Jacksdaddy I am about 90 miles south of Greensboro. I have an XT that I just bought early January. I have got mine set up for touring, well carrying everything plus the kitchen sink If you ever get the urge to ride south, hit me up. I got a message from another Uly owner that lives about 10 minutes from me but cant remember what forum[confused] Enjoy the bike!

Jackdaddy, be advised, should you remove that cannister you'll have to plug the open breather tube or it will allow oil to build up all over the underside of the engine. Some of my California brethren think it's an OK tradeoff with what they think is a performance issue but I can tell you their bikes aren't any faster than mine and I don't have to mess with the oil or the damned plug.
