i was thinking of trying the ngk iridium plugs for my 04 xb12 firebolt. any of you guys hear anything good about them. mods-jardine can, open airbox, breather reroute, race ecm

i run them on all my bikes. great plugs, no problems.
just stay away from platinum plugs.

To tell you the truth, every bike I have seen come through the shop without stock plugs in it has had issues with idling/running at one point or another.

Just be careful

iridium is a chemical element that has the symbol Ir and atomic number 77. A dense, very hard, brittle, silvery-white transition metal of the platinum family, iridium is used in high-strength alloys that can withstand high temperatures and occurs in natural alloys with platinum or osmium. Iridium is notable for being the most corrosion-resistant element known and for its significance in the determination of the probable cause of the extinction, by an asteroid impact, of the dinosaurs. It is used in high-temperature apparatuses, electrical contacts, and as a hardening agent for platinum. i sure hope they come with a lifetime garantee+:D

wow captain13ron thanks for the nice and detailed text book answer what did you get the definition off dictionary.com lol

yes i did! but i had to research a little about iridium for repairing varian leak detectors. they use iridium in the ion source, they say it is not of this earth, thus it is associated with the big impact!

wow i did not know that iridium was not of this earth shit you learn somthing new everyday

if you go to their website, there's a table where you can see which fits in what...

had the link, but lost it somewhere...

I just switched over to stock Harley double platinum plugs and I absolutely love them. Bike runs damn near perfect with those plugs. I would definitely recommend them.

TrojanSport, if the '08 XBs are still using the same heat range, you want the 9 series NGK. the 8s are one step hotter.

I would imagine they will fit the 08's I would think they all use the same plugs but then again mine is a 9r and you probably have the 12r. The 12 motor might use different plugs.
